Article 139 of Regulation (EU) No 2017/625 (OCR) on official controls and other official activities, requires Member States to put penalties in place for infringements of the Official Control Regulation (OCR). These penalties must be effective, proportionate and dissuasive.
In Ireland, penalties have been put in place in national legislation.
