Food Monitoring and Surveillance
The FSAI carries out surveillance for food on the Irish market. This is to make sure food businesses are complying with the relevant food legislation.
Monitoring activities are carried out with the official agencies - the Health Service Executive, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, local authorities and the Sea Fisheries Protection Authority - and their associated laboratories.
You can access reports and surveys for the following areas:
Zoonoses Surveillance
Zoonoses are diseases and infections which are naturally transmittable between vertebrate animals and humans. In this section you can find information and reports on zoonoses transmitted via food and water.
Human Disease Surveillance
This is carried out by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre. You can access information and reports on human diseases which have the potential to be transmitted via food or water on the HPSC website.
