Ferrero Recall Extended to All Batches and Additional Pack Sizes of Implicated Kinder Products due to Possible Presence of Salmonella

Message:

Further to FSAI Food Alert 2022.23FSAI Food Alert 2022.23 (Update 1) and FSAI Food Alert (Update 2), Ferrero is extending the recall of Kinder products listed below to all best before dates. In addition, the recall includes all pack sizes of Kinder Schokobons. This is due to the possible presence of Salmonella. Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batches.

Update from July 2022: Production recommenced in June 2022 and products with best before dates post 20.04.2023 are not subject to recall. 

Nature Of Danger:

People infected with Salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range between 6 and 72 hours. The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody.  Other symptoms may include fever, headache and abdominal cramps. The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days. Diarrhoea can occasionally be severe enough to require hospital admission. The elderly, infants, and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to have more severe illness.

Inspectors:

EHOs are requested as part of their routine checks to verify that the implicated batches are recalled from sale. Please notify FSAI (foodincidents@fsai.ie) of any concerns.

Manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, caterers & retailers:

Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batches from sale and to display a point-of-sale recall notice in stores where the affected batches were sold. 

Wholesalers/distributors are requested to contact any affected customers, recall the implicated batches and provide a point-of-sale recall notice to their retail customers. 

Consumers:
