Expressions of Interest
There is a current vacancy on the Audit and Risk Committee for an external non-Board member. The FSAI is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified candidates to fill this vacancy, bringing independent value and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the committee.

The Audit and Risk Committee has an independent role in the provision of assurance to the Board on internal control, risk management, audit and assurance matters, as part of the systematic review of the control environment and governance procedures of the FSAI.
Membership and Meetings
The Audit and Risk Committee has a membership of three Board members and one external member. The Audit and Risk Committee meets at least four times each year. Generally, meetings take place on Monday mornings, two meetings are held in person at the FSAI offices, and two meetings are held remotely. Additional meetings are convened, if circumstances require.
Candidate Criteria
The successful candidate should be a qualified accountant with recent and relevant experience working in an accounting environment. Some knowledge or experience of audit and public sector accounting is required. Other desired areas of experience include risk management, internal audit, governance, relevant technical or specialist issues, an understanding of the public sector environment, in particular the accountability structures, and current public sector reform initiatives.
