Message:
Specific batches of Ekoplaza Kokosolie Geurloos organic coconut oil are being recalled due to the elevated level of glycidyl esters. Glycidyl fatty acid esters are food contaminants generated during the processing of edible oils and fats. Glycidyl fatty acid esters are converted to glycidol after consumption. Although the consumption of the contaminated product does not pose an acute risk to health, there may be health issues if there is continued consumption of glycidyl esters over a long period of time. Therefore, exposure to this substance needs to be minimised. Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batches.
